Mars is a planet in the solar system. The planet is populated by Martians.

Mars in the manga
Mars was destroyed by King Nikochan and his assistant. Even though it gets destroyed, it somehow comes back later on as it is seen in "Dr. Mashirito's Ambition: Part 2", where it gets a big crack on its surface due to the fight between Arale Norimaki and Caramel Man 001.
Martians appear in Akira Toriyama's later manga Go! Go! Ackman, and make a cameo in Dragon Ball and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman.
